For individual competitions girls and ladies should be in the round up room having already warmed up and dressed in full costume with hair (and makeup if old enough) already completed 15 minutes before the competition is due to start. For Team Competitions your teacher will advise you of time expectations depending on the team draw. For State and Grand Finals competitors will be advised separately of their round up requirements.

Competition Types Explained

Each year a number of non-compulsory competitions are scheduled commencing in August and concluding with our Annual Club Performance and Awards night.  Included in your annual registration fee is payment for participation in up to 3 Interclubs and all official competitions. Competitions consist of:

  • Interclubs (August/September)
These are small events designed to give members the opportunity to experience competition in an informal setting.  All competitors receive an award for their participation.

  • Teams (October/November)
Run the by the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture, 6 girls are selected to represent their club to compete in team formation.|

  • Champion Girl / Champion Lady (October/November)
Run by the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture, Champion Girl / Lady is the main individual competition which gives competitors the opportunity to perform against all Sydney Metropolitan clubs for a chance to be selected for State competition.  State girls then have the opportunity to be selected in the top 12, culminating in the Schools' elite Grand Final performed annually at the Sydney Town Hall on the last Sunday in November.

  • Club Performance and Awards Night (early December)
Held at the conclusion of each season, the club performance is our yearly celebration showcasing our members performances, acknowledging their achievements and recognising  contributions to our club.
